Júzcar, Málaga | Spain (by Marie-Louise Nilsson)

This tiny and lovely town located near Ronda, Málaga, is one of the White Towns of Andalusia, with all the with buildings whitewashed. But it was painted entirely in blue in 2011 for the Smurfs Movie. Citizens voted to leave the buildings painted blue, as an estimated 80,000 tourists visited in the six months following the repainting. The town normally used to see 300 tourists per year.
